Ahaha I am so lost on who said what in that scene in the manga, I'm waiting for the anime to make it clear I guess. So when I said I interpreted that line differently, I meant that I didn't think, or didn't want to think, that "Chihaya doesn't belong to either of us" (whoever said it) could be equated with "She belongs to both of us", but that it meant "We need to stop making our rivalry/friendship about who has a better claim on Chihaya because neither of us has an actual claim on her we don't know what she wants or if she even knows what she wants wow how are we having this conversation with each other rather than with her". *cough* lol?
But I like Chihaya's "we all belong to each other" in your draft. If Arata and Taichi would admit in canon that they have a claim on each other I would feel a lot better about them feeling possessive about Chihaya.
